And so these last weeks the Church draws our attention to those last verses of the creed. That there will be at the end of each life and at the end of time, first for each of us a particular judgement. And we will stand in the light of Christ and our works will show forth whether we have followed that light or turned from it. Do I show forth the works of Christ, or of another? And then at the end of time, the judgement of the nations, the general resurrection and judgement. That the particular judgement on my life will be confirmed. And that there will be a new order of life. We don’t think about that too terribly much.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
If that’s not part of your daily toolbox, put it there.
