Run Time: 16:59. Gospel: Lk 17:11-19.
The problem is that we tend to approach the grace of God as, ‘Well that would be a nice thing to have, but I’m fine.’ Then we ask God for His daily help with the attitude of, ‘Well, I was fine before you showed up but I could use some nice things.’ … We tend to receive the grace of God like Christmas socks, ‘Well that’s very nice, it may not be exactly what I asked for but, thank you.’ It’s that kind of weak and hollow thanksgiving – because we forget that we too have been saved from the jaws of death. That our fate before God was the fate of those who had rejected Him. The fate of those separated from Him and from the font of life that is in Him.
